🔮 The Lesson of Blue

Little Blue Flowers

Talia left a blue candle on my bedside table tonight. She didn’t say anything—just smiled that knowing smile of hers, the one that makes me feel like she already knows the question I haven’t asked yet.

I didn’t realize how tired my mind was until I lit it. The soft blue glow flickered like the ocean breathing. Somehow, I could almost hear it—waves lapping, the air whispering be still.

When I asked her about it later, she said blue is the color of calm, wisdom, healing, and truth. “It listens,” she told me. “And if you listen back, you’ll hear what you need to know.”

I think I did.

Blue feels like the breath between waves

—the quiet moment where everything finally stops rushing. It’s the echo of the sky after a storm, the reminder that even after everything crashes down, peace can return.

Talia said that in magic, blue belongs to Water—the element of feeling and flow. She compared it to learning to swim through your emotions instead of drowning in them. “Water moves,” she said. “It doesn’t fight itself.”

I love that. Because lately, it feels like everything inside me is both tide and storm—missing Dad, trying to fit into this strange new town, trying not to be afraid of what I can do. Maybe blue is exactly what I need right now: a spell to remind me to breathe.

She also talked about the Throat Chakra—Vishuddha, she called it. The center of truth and voice. When she said it, I thought of how often I swallow my words. How sometimes it’s easier to say nothing than to risk saying too much.

Maybe that’s why blue keeps showing up around me. Maybe it’s trying to teach me to speak—not loudly, but clearly. To say what’s true even if my voice shakes.

Light blue for peace. Dark blue for wisdom. Indigo for the mysteries I don’t yet understand.
Talia says every shade holds a different spell. I wrote them down so I won’t forget:

blue

Light Blue — patience and peace
Dark Blue — wisdom and protection
Indigo — intuition and higher knowing

She showed me how to anoint the candle with lavender oil before lighting it, and how to whisper the truth I’ve been holding back. I didn’t think I could say it, but the words came out soft and steady.

And afterward, I felt lighter. Like something inside me finally exhaled.

Blue teaches me that calm isn’t the absence of emotion—it’s what happens when you let the storm pass through without losing yourself to it. It’s gentle, but it’s strong. Like Talia. Like water.

Tonight, my room glows faintly blue. The candle’s almost out, but the calm it brought lingers.

Maybe this is what healing feels like—not a spell or a miracle, but a color.
And maybe tomorrow, I’ll be brave enough to speak the truth again.
